Ingredients

  • for the cake:
  • 175g (6oz) pumpkin flesh, cubed
  • 125g (4oz) butter
  • 125g (4oz) caster sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 175g (6oz) self-raising flour
  • 1tsp ground mixed spice
  • for the decoration:
  • 4tbsp apricot jam
  • icing sugar, to dust
  • about 300g (11oz) oranges
  • purple and white ready to roll icing
  • food colouring
  • a little royal icing

Instructions

  • To cover the cakes with coloured ready-to-roll icing, we used the traditional Halloween black, orange & purple as some white for the ghost.
