Ingredients

  • 2 pieces bread
  • 1 large egg
  • Half teaspoon grated nutmeg
  • Half teaspoon cinnamon
  • Half teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 dessertspoon milk
  • Optional:
  • 1 tablespoon desiccated coconut
  • 1 banana
  • Maple syrup

Instructions

  • Heat some butter in a very hot frying pan
  • Whisk egg and milk in a bowl until well combined
  • Add cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla essence one at a time whilst whisking
  • Pour the mixture onto a plate and coat the bread in it
  • Fry the bread on each side until golden brown
  • Chop up the banana and coat it in maple syrup and desiccated coconut before frying alongside the bread for a tasty addition
