Ingredients

  • 2 cups of semolina
  • 1 cup of cooking oil
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup natural yoghurt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Syrup
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • tablespoon lemon juice
  • vanilla pod
  • Almonds to decorate

Instructions

  • beat together the oil and sugar and add the eggs
  • Sift in the bicarbonate of soda and baking powder add the semolina and yoghurt
  • Cook in a moderate oven for 30 minutes
  • For the syrup put the water, sugar, lemon juice and vanilla pod in a pan and boil for 10 minutes
  • When the cake has cooled add the almonds and cut into diagonals and add the hot syrup.
