Ingredients

  • 2 cups rice, washed, soaked and drained
  • 1 cup peas, boiled
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 2 onions, finely sliced
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 2 cloves
  • 2-3 green chillies, slit lengthwise
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 tsp shahjeera
  • corriander leaves, chopped

Instructions

  • Heat oil. Fry sliced onions till golden brown. Add all the spices and the crushed garlic. Stir fry for a few minutes
  • Add salt and rice. Stir fry. Add 4 cups of water and cook.
  • When the rice is half-cooked, add the peas and the chopped corriander. Cover and cook till done.
