Ingredients
- 2lb stewing steak
- 1 onion
- 3 carrots
- 2 tbsp. curry powder
- 1 litre water
- 1 tbsp. bisto to thicken
- 1tbsp. olive oil
- 6 potatoes
- Mango Chutney
- Pickled onions
- 3 cups long grain rice
Instructions
- Finely chop the onions. Cut beef into cubes and slice the carrots.
- Heat the olive oil in a nonstick sauce pan. Fry the onion with the curry powder for 2 minutes until soft. Add in the beef and fry until brown.
- Add in the water and the carrots and bring to the boil and allow to simmer for 1 hour. Taste, season and add more curry powder as required.
- Thicken with bisto. Serve on a bed of rice with potatoes (optional) garnished with picked onions (optional)
