In this recipe, crunchy almonds and wholesome oats are coated in a sweet mixture of canola oil, maple syrup, and honey, resulting in a deliciously golden and fragrant granola. Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 1/2 cup grade B maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 4 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped almonds
  • Fresh or dried fruit for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat an oven to 325°F. Lightly oil a 12-by-15-inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the oil, syrup, honey and salt. Stir in the oats and almonds, mixing to coat them completely. Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared pan and bake, stirring every 10 minutes, until golden brown, 30 to 35 minutes. Let the granola cool completely.
  • Store the granola in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks. Top with fruit to serve. Serves 10.
