Ingredients

  • 100g pasta
  • 1 tin chopped tomatoes
  • 5 splashes Worcestershire Sauce
  • 5 Splashes Tabasco sauce
  • 1 tsp fish sauce
  • 1 star anise
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 tbsp parsley or basil
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • Salt & pepper
  • sugar (pinch)

Instructions

  • The secret to this recipe is good quality tinned tomatoes and spaghetti. Don't scrimp on these! When your shopping, stock up on the best tinned tomatoes you can find. It will cost you a few pence more, but if you use cheep tomatoes then this dish wont taste anywhere near as satisfying!
  • Boil pasta in salted water like normal
  • While water is heating, empty can of tomato into a pan and throw in all the ingredients and simmer until pasta is cooked. Season to taste
  • Drain pasta but reserve some of the water. Throw the pasta in with the tomato sauce, mix and add as much of the reserved water as needed to bring it together but before it is watery. Enjoy!
