Ingredients

  • * 8 Cup(s) Granny Smith & Gala Apples, peeled, cored, sliced
  • * 1 1 Cup(s) Sugar
  • * 2 ¼ one_quater Cup(s) Corn Starch
  • * 3 2 Table Spoon(s) Cinnamon
  • * 4 1 Tea Spoon(s) Salt
  • * 5 1 Table Spoon(s) Vanilla Extract
  • * 6 1 Each Michael's Pie Dough Recipe (see idealchef.com)
  • * 7 1 Each Egg White (for egg wash)
  • * 8 As Needed Water
  • * 9 1 Table Spoon(s) Granulated Sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  • Mix together apples, sugar, vanilla, salt, cinnamon and cornstarch until combined
  • Let sit for 10 minutes, Take bottom of pie crust and lay into a pie pan,
  • Brush bottom with egg wash to form a seal, Layer apples in pie crust to evenly distribute, press apples down,Take top layer of pie crust and drape across apples
  • Pat down and pinch bottom and top piece of pie crust together to seal each area, Lightly Brush some water over the top of the pie crust,Sprinkle top with granulated sugar
  • Cut 4 vents in the middle of the pie, Refrigerate for 30 minutes
  • Bake for 15 minutes then lower the temperature to 325, Bake for another 30 minutes, Remove from oven and let cool for 30 minutes before serving
