This delightful recipe combines tender sautéed apples with a hint of cinnamon, sandwiched between slices of crispy golden-brown buttered bread. Perfect for a delicious and satisfying treat to enjoy any time of day.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbs. unsalted butter, plus melted butter for
  • brushing
  • 2 apples, peeled, cored and diced
  • 2 Tbs. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon, plus more for
  • sprinkling
  • 4 slices white or cinnamon-raisin bread

Instructions

  • Be sure an adult is nearby to help.<Br>
  • In a braiser over medium-high heat, melt the 2 Tbs. butter. Add the apples, sugar and the 1/4 tsp. cinnamon and sauté until the apples are tender, 5 to 7 minutes. Remove from the heat.
  • Preheat a sandwich grill to medium-high according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Brush the tops of the bread slices with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon. Turn 2 of the slices over and top each with half of the apple mixture. Top each with another bread slice, buttered side up.
  • Place the sandwiches on the preheated grill and close the lid. Cook until the bread is crisp and golden brown, 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Transfer the sandwiches to a cutting board and cut each in half diagonally. Serve immediately. Serves 2.
