Apple & Cornflake Pots
This indulgent apple crumble dessert is a delightful twist on the classic recipe. Tart Bramley apples are simmered with sugar until softened, then topped with a crunchy cornflake and golden syrup topping. Ingredients
- 800g Bramley apples , peeled and sliced
- 3 tbsp golden caster sugar
- 2 tbsp golden syrup
- 25g butter
- 85g cornflakes
- 200ml low-fat crème fraîche
Instructions
- Put the apples, caster sugar and 3 tbsp water in a pan and cook over a medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 10 mins until softened.
- Divide mixture between 4 glass tumblers and leave to cool. Meanwhile, heat the golden syrup and butter in a large bowl in the microwave for 1 min to melt. Add the cornflakes and stir well to coat.
- Top the cooled apple with the crème fraîche, then divide the cornflake mix between the glasses.
