Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 Tbs. firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup paprika
  • 1 Tbs. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp. smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp. kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • In a small container with a tight-fitting lid, stir together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, paprika, chili powder, cayenne, smoked paprika, salt and several grinds of black pepper. Cover and shake vigorously to mix. Use immediately, or store in a cool, dark place for up to 1 month. Makes about 2/3 cup.
